Summer is Here!

Rose City School, Surline Elementary and Surline Middle School offices are closed until August 6, 2024. You may print and fill out the enrollment/registration packets to save time, however, you will need to wait until August 6, 2024, to actually go to those school offices for enrollment.

Ogemaw Heights High School is open during the summer, except when staff vacation overlaps.  Call 343-2050, in advance, to ascertain that someone will be in their office to receive your enrollment.

If you would like to drop off your enrollment packet or need one printed for you, you may also contact Karyn Randall at 989-343-2001

Important Updates from DHD2

Take steps today to make sure your student is ready for school this fall.

Dear Students, Families and Community Members,

On behalf of the faculty and staff at Rose City School, it is my pleasure to welcome you and your student to our small school with a big heart.  My past experience has shown me that it takes a team to help all students reach their maximum potential. The caring and dedicated faculty and staff at Rose City School encourages all students to set high goals for themselves and to reach for their dreams. Our staff goals include developing higher levels of thinking and learning and higher levels of engagement opportunities.  I will work collaboratively with the staff at Rose City School to provide an academic program where all students can be successful.  We will make every effort so that all students will become successful members of society and are able to compete in an increasingly complex world in which they will work and live. Advanced Learning offerings, Reading support, Mathematics support and Special Education services afford students the opportunity to grow rapidly through strong support and enrichment.

As Principal of Rose City School, I am deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our children. We will accomplish this by setting high academic expectations for all children and providing supportive systems to assure they are met. By addressing school culture, setting high standards for teacher performance, increased academic expectations for all students and engaging the community, it is our goal at Rose City School that all students develop into Respectful Individuals, Responsible Leaders, and Reflective Achievers.

We invite you to become an active participant in our school community through volunteering, joining our PTO, or attending and supporting school events. Research clearly supports that when parents/guardians participate and are involved in their child’s education, there is a greater likelihood of academic success for the child.  Remember, it does take a village to raise a child, and it takes a very special school like Rose City School to educate them.  Please know that I welcome your participation, support, and efforts as they are greatly valued and appreciated.  We are in this together!
